On-Line eCounselling & eTherapy

The essence of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is for the patient and the therapist to meet and build a therapeutic relationship, This is in order to understand and interpret the underlying issues causing the distress, anxiety or behavioural problems. Personal contact is an important feature of nearly every style of psychotherapy, alternative therapies and counselling.

Although I would always urge a patient to see a therapist or counsellor in person, I appreciate that in some cases  personal contact is not always possible. There may be geographical or mobility obstacles or the fear of personal contact may itself be the issue to be resolved.

In certain cases therefor, I do offer an on-line counselling facility using
Skype, Facetime, WhatsApp, Signal, Zoom and Telegram

.

If this is something you feel may be appropriate for you, contact me by
e-mail and I will arrange a free 15-minute trial session for you so that we can
assess the suitability.

Important:
This on-line service is not intended for individuals who are actively contemplating suicide or are suffering from a
severe mental or emotional disorder.

If this describes you then contact your GP or go to your nearest hospital and ask for help as soon as possible.

If you are in immediate distress or you feel suicidal and are in the UK  visit the Samaritans immediately.

In other countries, contact
Befrienders International.

On-line therapy may a suitable choice if you fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • You have difficulty leaving your home due to disability, caregiving responsibilities, or some other reason.

  • You live in an area where there are few or no qualified helping professionals who can offer you psychotherapy or counselling.

  • You live in a community or work in a field in which it may be important not to reveal that you are in therapy or the issues that you need to talk about. Seeking help through your doctor’s surgery may be recorded on your medical history.

  • You are uncomfortable around people, but think you might be able to open up in a non face-to-face environment.

  • You are in one of the services and want safe and confidential access to therapy or counselling.

  • You are located in a different country but would still prefer your therapist to be UK based.
